PRoject: Life Retreat

Jonathon’s work can’t be pigeon-holed. While we thought we were going to work on plans for an addition, we found that we were also being mentored in how to think about design thinking. In the end, we have an exciting and creative design which far exceeded our own limited thinking. Jonathon also pays attention to all the small details, suggesting everything from color schemes to fixtures and furnishings. It was a delightful experience. We highly recommend him.

Project; Bent House

We have used JDESIGN studio for 2 projects. The first was a space and budget constrained basement suite in our first home that delivered an attractive, modern, and efficient space. The second project was our, much more ambitious (What were we thinking?!), newly completed custom home. We had no idea what we were in for when we started the process but the knowledge, advice, and just plain help JDESIGN provided was invaluable. After living in the space for almost 2 years, the consideration for the use of materials and space and the thoughtful execution of our design inspirations shines through. Spaces are simple yet beautiful. Things just are where they should be.

We have known JJ personally for many years now and I can honestly say that although we love JJ as a human, We worked with JDESIGN because of his commitment to collaboration, beautiful and functional design, attention to detail, and above all: the results. From the first consultation to the closing of the permit almost 3 years later JJ cared about the project and it becomes more evident every day we live here.

Jonathon did an incredible job designing our home. He worked with us to meet our needs, but also brought his own fresh and creative ideas to the table. I have worked with him to redesign the interior of two homes. He has a great process that he explains up front and wants his clients to be a part of it, and not just sit on the side. PROJECT: A Free Spirit Suite: 

"We hired Jonathon at the recommendation of our contractor Bruce MacLachlan to basically do a kitchen, office, and small suite design in our home. We ended up following his brilliant idea or turning most of the unused basement into a 2 bedroom legal basement suite! This man is a genius at respacing areas and turning them into functional aesthetically pleasing living spaces.

From the first meeting to the final stage of construction, Jonathon was professional, knowledgeable and easy to work with.
