While our core expertise lies in creating unique residential design solutions that enhance everyday living, we’ve also partnered with commercial clients—providing precise drafting, as-built documentation, and tailored design support to meet their specific needs. Here is some of that work.

VRGE Hotel - 2022 - Revelstoke, BC

Documenting the foundation for reinvention

VRGE Hotel, a boutique ski destination in Revelstoke, began with a deep understanding of the building’s existing framework and infrastructure. Commissioned by Calgary-based design firm MoDA, I was brought on to produce comprehensive as-built drawings and a full 3D reconstruction of the existing motel. This technical groundwork laid the foundation for MoDA to reimagine the complex as a modern mountain getaway. Though quiet in nature, the work was essential — a behind-the-scenes contribution that ensured accuracy, clarity, and creative freedom as the project moved confidently into its next chapter.

River City Pub - 2021 - Revelstoke, BC

Patio layout and permitting support

For the River City Pub, I’ve provided recurring design services to lay out various outdoor patio configurations. These plans support permitting requirements and ensure functional, code-compliant use of seasonal outdoor space.

Masonic Holding Society - 2021 - Revelstoke, BC

As-built documentation for fire evacuation plans

This project involved measuring and drafting as-built drawings of the Masonic Holding Society building, which houses three commercial units and a Masonic Lodge. The drawings were used to create fire evacuation plans for posting throughout the building.

Weber Arctic - 2021 - Revelstoke, BC

As-built measurement and functional layout design

This project involved documenting the existing basement of a multi-tenant commercial building to integrate Weber Arctic’s new base office. The space was designed to operate independently within a shared structure, requiring careful attention to fire separation, egress, and accessibility. In addition to as-built drawings, I developed functional layouts to include a group meeting area, private office, and guest lounge — balancing regulatory needs with day-to-day operations in a compact footprint.

Courthouse Inn - 2020 - Revelstoke, BC

As-built documentation for fire evacuation plans

This project involved measuring and drafting the existing conditions of the Courthouse Inn to support code-compliant fire evacuation plans. The finalized drawings were used to produce evacuation diagrams for posting throughout the building.

Mountain Goodness Natural Foods - 2020— Revelstoke, BC

A new rhythm within a modest footprint

This low-budget renovation focused on reorganizing flow and function within an existing natural foods store. Working with mismatched millwork, inherited shelving, and scattered displays, the design introduced a unified circulation loop that guides customers through the entire space. Existing furniture was repurposed and painted in a single cohesive color, transforming disjointed pieces into a connected whole. The result is calm, clear, and practical — a layout that supports daily operations while reinforcing the store’s values of simplicity, wellness, and care. With minimal means, the space now feels complete — balanced, intuitive, and quietly intentional.

103 2nd Street East - 2019 - Revelstoke, BC

A full BOMA-standard as-built measurement was completed for this multi-tenant commercial property to provide the building owner with accurate and industry-accepted data. The precise documentation supports rental and lease agreements, ensuring transparency and consistency. Additionally, existing conditions were measured to assist in developing code-compliant fire evacuation plans, contributing to occupant safety and regulatory compliance. This project reflects a thorough, detail-oriented approach to building measurement and functional documentation within a complex commercial environment.

Landmark Cinemas - 2019 - West Kelowna, BC

3D visualization and exterior color concept

This project involved creating a detailed 3D model of Landmark Cinemas Encore Theatre in West Kelowna to explore new exterior colour schemes. Inspired by the nostalgia of classic movie theater’s, the design introduced rich golds and deep reds, evoking warmth and timelessness. The goal was to craft an enticing and memorable theatre presence that honors cinematic history while refreshing its visual identity.

Selkirk Medical 2018 — Revelstoke, BC

Heritage context with a refreshed face

Located in Revelstoke’s historic downtown core, Selkirk Medical was a study in subtle transformation. Tasked with developing concept renderings for a refreshed exterior color scheme, the design process focused on honoring the existing architectural character while introducing a more contemporary, welcoming palette. Working closely with the general contractor, we provided a series of iterative options, allowing the client to explore various tones, accents, and combinations. Though modest in scope, the work helped clarify the building’s presence on the street — a thoughtful update that respects heritage while offering a renewed sense of identity within the evolving fabric of downtown.

Monashee Spirits Craft Distillery 2016 — Revelstoke, BC

Industrial warmth meets handcrafted precision

The front of Monashee Spirits is designed to evoke a moody speakeasy atmosphere — a space that invites guests in with its rich textures and warm finishes. Exposed raw iron elements, dark piping, and a slatted wood ceiling form the backbone of this industrial-inspired space. Carefully layered lighting and sightlines ensure the space feels intimate and grounded, while still connecting visually to the process behind the product.

In the back, the distillation space puts craftsmanship on full display. Here, the design opens up to highlight the owner’s custom-fabricated equipment — a nod to his deep-sea welding background. Every mechanical detail is intentional, exposed not just for function but as part of the aesthetic. The contrast between front and back invites visitors to journey from ambiance into authenticity — from sipping to seeing how it’s made.

Revelstoke Powder Rentals 2016 — Revelstoke, BC

This redesign rethinks the typical ski and snowboard rental experience by drawing guests into the tech space, rather than keeping it hidden behind the scenes. An industrial-style workbench anchors the shop, bringing tuning and adjustments to the forefront as a shared experience between technician and guest. In contrast, a lounge zone offers a moment of pause — a built-in bench wraps around a central table, with ski films playing in place of a fire. Framed by open-slat wood and workbench-style displays, the space balances utility with warmth — functional, gritty, and unmistakably Revelstoke.

Selkirk Mountain Experience 2013 — Revelstoke, BC

The warmth of the hut, downtown

Tasked with reimagining Selkirk Mountain Experience’s downtown office, the design embraced the feeling of their remote alpine lodge and brought it to street level. Natural cedar grounds the space in warmth, while vintage furniture and mountaineering artifacts from the lodge create the intimacy of a lived-in family room. Framed photographs hang salon-style, inviting guests to pause and connect with the story. Surrounding this, large-format mountain imagery and curated lighting form a rotating gallery wall — a nod to the scale and drama of the landscape. The result is a storefront that feels less like an office, and more like an invitation.

Wildflower Wellness 2012 — Revelstoke, BC

Warmth and light in a narrow footprint

Wildflower Wellness was designed to feel calm, welcoming, and quietly uplifting. Tucked into a corridor less than eight feet wide, the space embraced its scale through warmth and simplicity. Natural cedar added softness and grounding throughout, while a minimalist retail wall showcased skincare and wellness products on crisp white shelving. Carefully framed openings between shelves allowed fresh-cut wildflowers to bloom in rhythm with the seasons — the only bursts of color in an otherwise neutral palette. The result was a space that felt open, personal, and engaging — where the experience of wellness extended beyond treatment rooms into every detail.
